Sergey Pesterev
Landscape photography · EFIAP · Russian Union of Art Photographers
Born in the Moscow region, and still living here. I started taking pictures at fourteen, with a film point-and-shoot my parents gave me. Then came black-and-white film and printing at home — what fascinated me most was watching an image appear on a blank sheet of paper. Those years left an archive of several hundred rolls of film; today I shoot digital. I am a software engineer by training and profession, but through all these years photography has remained my main pursuit outside work.
I am drawn not to views but to states — the moment when light, weather and season come together into something that will never happen again. So I return to the same places and wait: for a blizzard on Baikal, for fog over a river, for the last sunny day of late autumn.
Member of the Russian Union of Art Photographers and the Creative Union “Photo Art”. EFIAP (Excellence FIAP) of the International Federation of Photographic Art.
